The Hot Springs Jazz Society in collaboration with the Garland County Library will present Dr. Rick Dimond, Professor of Music at Henderson State University on piano and accordion, accompanied by bassist Byron Yancey, at their second Wednesday of the month concert in the library auditorium at 6pm on Wednesday, September 14. Reservations are not required and a covered nonalcoholic beverage may be brought into the auditorium.
Dr. Dimond has been a music educator for 39 years at Henderson University. He has been the principle timpanist for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra for 30 years. Byron Yancey plays both acoustical and electric bass. He has been the bassist for the Donna Pettey Ohio House Band for 12 years. Byron is described as having “a mellow baritone voice” and sings ballads “with a soulful feeling.”
