The Arkansas Highlands Folk Project was founded in partnership with the Garland County Library to preserve the old-time music customs, sounds, and storytelling of rural Arkansas. This Arkansas Highlands Stringband program is a musical and narrative journey to a time before radio and recordings; rural America depended on homemade music and dance for entertainment. Join us to see how this music transitioned into Country, Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Rock’n Roll and more. Bring your sweetheart and dancing shoes and enjoy our Old Time Journey!
