Children’s book author Kelly Bennett will explore where ideas come from and how
books are created in this lively presentation—for all ages! —will feature her new non-
fiction book, The House That Ruth Built about baseball and Babe Ruth, and Norman,
her finny goldfish. She’ll also share tips on how to tell your own stories!
Kelly Bennett is the author of many award-winning books for children—mostly picture
books, Storyteller, Teacher, and Writing Coach. Her stories, including Norman One
Amazing Goldfish & Not Norman, A Goldfish Story; Vampire Baby; Dad and Pop; and
One Day I Went Rambling, The House Babe Ruth Built celebrate all that goes into being
a kid!
Kelly is a graduate of VCFA’s Writing for Children and Young Adults program, and long-
standing member of SCBWI (former ARA for SCBWI-Houston) & The Author’s Guild.
She’s based in Westhampton Beach, NY and Mimiville (which is anywhere her
grandboys may be).
