Inkhearts: Writing Compelling Mysteries (or Non-Mysteries) with Author Holly Green
May 21 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm CDT
Blended Virtual/In-Person
This month, the Inkhearts Fiction Writers Club welcomes author and guest lecturer Holly Green.
Green’s lecture is entitled “Taking the Case: Writing Compelling Mysteries (Or Non-Mysteries)” and will cover mystery writing techniques that any fiction writer can use to make their story more engaging, even if they aren’t writing a mystery.
Green is the author of the young adult novel In the Same Boat, which was listed as one of the Banks Street College of Education’s Best Children’s Books of the Year for both 2021 and 2022. Green holds an MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in Austin, Texas with her family. You can learn more at her author website, www.hollygreenwrites.com.
Please note that this event will take place at 11:30 A.M. and not at the Inkhearts’ usual meeting time.
In-person attendees will meet in the library’s meeting room B. Virtual attendees will receive a link to attend remotely. A recording of the lecture will also be available afterward on the library’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
The Inkhearts Fiction Writing Club meets on the third Saturday of each month. Participation is free and open to all adults, from beginners to published authors, who want to sharpen their fiction writing skills and participate in a nurturing artistic community.
