These seasonal bird walks around the neighborhood surrounding the Library are led by an experienced birder from the local Audubon Society.

Participants should arrive starting around 8:30am to prepare for the walk, which will depart at 9am, and will last approximately two hours. First time participants will receive complimentary “birdwalk starter kits” containing basic supplies for their adventure.

After the birdwalk, the number of each species of bird sighted will be entered into a national database as a citizen science exercise. After all 4 bird walks are completed, in February of 2024 participants will compare the four bird lists to gain a richer understanding of seasonal changes in avian populations of Garland County.
