(In-Person & Virtual) Inkhearts Fiction Writers Club

July 16 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm CDT

Please note that the Inkhearts will meet from 1:00-2:30 P.M. through the summer.

Blended in-person and virtual event

To register, please e-mail Chanan Emmons at cemmons@gclibrary.com.

Join fiction writer and GCL staff member Chanan Emmons for a monthly dive into fiction writing and the writing life. The Inkhearts meet on the third Saturday of each month for a brief presentation on a craft-related topic, followed by a short workshop of submitted fiction selections. Past topics have included: developing vibrant characters, structuring your plot, writing character-specific dialogue, and overcoming writer’s block.

This program is free and open to all fiction-writing adults, from beginners to published authors, who want to sharpen their fiction writing skills and participate in a nurturing artistic community. In-person attendees will gather in the library’s meeting room B. Virtual attendees will receive a Zoom link, which they can use to participate.

Chanan earned her MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and her BA in Professional & Technical Writing from UALR. She is excited to have the opportunity to work alongside other Garland County writers.
