Join us at any time for a series of 8 monthly programs focusing on topics designed to introduce the public to astronomy, and promote interest and understanding. This series is hosted by Arkansas Master Naturalist and Hot Springs Village Stargazer Jerry Simmons, with assistance from fellow HSV Stargazers Brian Brengle and Jay Williams.

The “Introduction to Astronomy” program schedule includes the following installments:

2. Tue, Sep 5 – Constellations – It’s All “Greek” to Me
3. Tue, Oct 3 – Partial Eclipse Preparedness Program (Partial Eclipse is 10/14/23)
4. Tue, Nov 7 – Stars – In the Beginning, and Why We Are All Star Stuff
5. Tue, Dec 5 – Deep Sky Objects – Nebulas, Galaxies, Clusters, and Double Stars
6. Tue, Jan 2 – Planning and Observing – Using Binoculars and Telescopes
7. Tue, Feb 6 – Virtual Astronomy – Using Skymaps and Stellarium
8. Tue, Mar 12 – Total Eclipse Preparedness Program (for the “Big” Eclipse on 4/8/24)
