(VIRTUAL) A Bird and a Book: The Big Year

Garland County Audubon Society and avid birder Jerry Butler will interview Mitchell Pruitt of the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. Mitchell Pruitt once completed an Arkansas Big Year when he was only in his teens, and fell only one species short of the state record. A “big year” is a personal challenge among birders to identify as many species of birds as possible within a single calendar year.

Special attention will be given to this program’s featured bird, the northern saw-whet owl.
