Program livestreamed at facebook.com/garlandcountylibrary and youtube.com/garlandcolibrary

Join us for an interview with author Carl Ford Jr. about his memoir, Tilting at Windmills: My Tug of War Between Intelligence and Policy. A political scientist, consultant, defense administrator, and political independent, Ford served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence and Research from 2001-2003. During that time, he headed the Bureau of Intelligence and Research and reported directly to then Secretary of State Colin Powell. Follow Ford’s journey from his first tour of duty in Vietnam in 1965, through his decades of service as a US military intelligence officer, CIA China military analyst, professional staff member for the Committee on Foreign Relations, and beyond.

According to its cover, “Tilting at Windmills gives you a front row seat to major intelligence, national security, and foreign policy issues that played out during the Cold War and beyond… In addition, you will gain insights into many of the main actors in these events, including: John Glenn, Joe Biden, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz” and more.
