(VIRTUAL) How To Design & Teach Your Own Class (w/ Eli Vega)

June 1 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm CDT

Program livestreamed at facebook.com/garlandcountylibrary and youtube.com/garlandcolibrary

A lot of people have acquired very useful or fun skills, expertise and talents. Many, like you, have thought about teaching a course and sharing that know-how with others but perhaps didn’t know where to begin. Well, this course is tailored for someone just like you. After you complete this presentation, you too will be able to design and successfully teach the course that best fits your talents and interests. The first thing to remember is that it is not about you–it’s about them. Think of it, not as a teaching experience, but as a learning experience–you learn from the experience of teaching a course; they learn from your expertise. You will learn how to structure your curriculum, how to use humor and creativity, adult learning principles, the importance of analogies and metaphors, and much more!

Instructor Bio: Eli Vega has taught photography field workshops, classes, and private lessons for over twenty years. Prior to his photography career, he was in the field of Human Resources with
a specialty in learning & development. During that career he got his professional certification as a workshop facilitator. It is no surprise that his students often give him above average evaluations.
He has received 100% Excellent ratings in several of his classes. One of his favorite student comments is, “You know what I really liked about your workshop? You didn’t make me feel stupid.”
