April 22 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm CDT

This program is livestreamed via the library’s Facebook and YouTube accounts. One lucky person who comments or asks a question during the live event will win a membership for them + a guest to Garvan Woodland Gardens.

On this special Earth Day program, as part of the Master Gardeners’ “Know It to Grow It Program,” Leslie Cooper, the Arkansas Monarch and Pollinator Coordinator with Quail Forever, will discuss the status of the Monarch butterfly, the Arkansas Monarch Conservation Partnership, how we can help the Monarch in our own backyards and how property owners working with larger scale properties can get involved.

Leslie Cooper is the Arkansas Monarch and Pollinator Coordinator which is a partnership position with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Quail Forever. She assists the Arkansas Monarch Conservation Partnership to work toward the strategic goals of the Arkansas Monarch and Pollinator Conservation Plan. Part of this plan is to deliver acres of habitat critical to the survival and population growth of monarch butterflies, pollinators, and upland wildlife.
