(VIRTUAL) Perceptions of Color #3: Bringing the H.E.A.T.: Healthy Eating Alternatives for Thanksgiving

Join Marsalis Weatherspoon and his guests in “Perceptions of Color,” a monthly series that intends to both celebrate and educate about all facets of the African American experience. Weatherspoon, a musician, speaker, and public servant, currently serves as President of the local NAACP branch, Hot Springs Branch #6013.

This program focuses on a healthy eating around Thanksgiving, from and for the perspective of People of Color.

Guest Ronda Gilbert-Hines presents. Gilbert-Hines joined the Arkansas Minority Health Commission in July 2021 as Health Program Specialist I.  She is the coordinator for the “Southern Ain’t Fried” Sundays program.  Through this program she educates individuals about healthier alternatives to preparing and cooking traditional-style meals.  Previously, Ms. Gilbert-Hines worked for the Arkansas Department of Human Services’ Division of Aging, Adult and Behavioral Health Services as a Program Administrator working with the Aging Network to promote the health, safety, and independence of older Arkansans.
