Join Ms. Chanan and go hiking in search of story-writing inspiration!
The summer, we’ll meet at four scenic locations across Garland County to learn about fiction-writing topics like character and setting, as well as how moving our bodies can help get our creative juices flowing. Then we’ll strike out with journals and pens to find a good writing spot. Finally, we’ll regroup for discussion and (if we want) to share what we’ve written.
Dates and Locations:
- 6/5 West Mountain Loop Overlook
- 6/19 Cedar Glades Park, beginning at amphitheater
- 7/17 Hot Springs Mountain Pagoda
- 7/31 Grand Promenade, beginning at Noble Fountain
The Practical Stuff:
- Sturdy shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and water bottles strongly recommended.
- Average temperatures range from mid 70s to low 80s, so consider dressing in layers.
- Younger siblings welcome on-site, provided they stick with their grown-up.
- In case of rain, we’ll meet at the library.
