Bookmobile Book Club

Bookmobile Book Club is rescheduled for February 21

 

What: Bookmobile Book Club: hosted at the McAuley Senior Center
When: 10am-11am, Wednesday, February 21
Where: 5010 Hwy 7 North, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909
Who: Adults
Registration Required

GCLers Greg and James host the first iteration of the Bookmobile Book Club at the McAuley Center. The official Bookmobile Book Club book is The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, written by Kim Michele Richardson. Bookmobile Book Club sites rotate each month, so stay tuned for announcements.

Copies will be available during bookmobile stops at the McAuley Center.

 

Donna, the GCL Bookmobile, visits the McAuley Center from 10am-12pm on every first and third Wednesday each month. Services offered will include:

  • Holds pickup
  • Returns
  • Browsable collection of books, movies, shows and fun stuff
  • A couple of GCL staff ready to discuss GCL and available services

Join fiction writer and GCL staff member Chanan Emmons for a monthly dive into fiction writing and the writing life. The Inkhearts meet on the second Tuesday evening of each month to discuss craft-related topics and workshop fiction selections submitted by members of the group. No prior experience is necessary. New participants will be guided in the workshop process.

This program is free and open to all fiction-writing adults, from beginners to published authors, who want to sharpen their fiction writing skills and participate in a nurturing artistic community.

Chanan earned her MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and her BA in Professional & Technical Writing from UALR. She is excited to have the opportunity to work with other Garland County writers.
