This program will discuss the what, where, why, and how of this country’s most storied highway, U.S. 66, as heralded in Drew Knowles’ Route 66 Adventure Handbook. Ride shotgun as Drew and his photographs take you on an armchair adventure featuring some of the most iconic sights along what has been called “America’s Main Street” and “The Mother Road,” stretching from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California.

Drew Knowles is a writer, photographer, and veteran of dozens and dozens of road trips throughout the United States. In addition to Route 66 Adventure Handbook, he is the author of Route 66 Quick Reference Encyclopedia, and many articles.

Guest speaker and Hot Springs native Lisa Goodwin shares a unique childhood in a Hot Springs landmark—the Majestic Hotel. Her father, Leo Wolfe, was general manager from 1954-1982. Lisa Goodwin has worked for the Arkansas Department of Parks and the Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission.
